Ar Baal and his brother came from a small village where most families worshipped spirits and survived through farming. But home was not a safe place. After their father died, their mother remarried, and their stepfather’s drug addiction brought fear and chaos into their lives.

One night, violence erupted in the home. Ar Baal and his brother fled to save their lives. With nowhere else to go, they ran to another village where their grandmother lived—but she didn’t have the resources to care for them. While seeking help, she learned about the VOHM Orphanage and brought the boys there.

When they arrived at VOHM, the boys were frightened and unsure of what the future would hold. Even after coming to the home, fear followed them—nightmares, tears, and a deep anxiety rooted in the spiritual darkness they had grown up around. The VOHM team prayed for them, cared for them, and walked with them patiently as God brought healing.

Today, Ar Baal and his brother are safe. They are attending school, learning well, and beginning to feel secure, loved, and happy. They enjoy church and Sunday school, and they believe God protected them and brought them to VOHM. Now they’re experiencing freedom from fear and growing in God’s grace—with hope for a future where they can become teachers and encourage others.
